So when I thought about making a blog and website I thought to myself.
What if I don’t say the right thing!
What if I can’t help and encourage!
What about my life, I mean I am not perfect!
What about the sin from my past!
What if nobody reads what I write or is even interested!
Really what I was struggling with was “Insecurities”. I was insecure in myself. I wasn’t trusting God in my life fully.
Jeremiah 17: 7-8 says, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
If we are trusting in the Lord fully then we have to let go of our insecurities. We can’t spread God’s word if we allow ourselves to depend on when is the right time, or think we have to control every word and thought. If we truly are trusting God then we know that He will give us the right words. I know that God can give me words to encourage. They will not be my words. They will be His words. I have to stop thinking about me and start thinking about God and others.
Ephesians 2:1-2 says, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sin; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience”.
Satan wants us to doubt. He wants us to be insecure so we do not have the courage to tell others about God. He doesn’t want me or anyone to help ladies, children or men. He would much rather make us think we had too much past sin to be able to encourage or help others.
You know what? I don’t live in my past and neither should anyone else. When Jesus died on the cross, He took care of my past and future sin. Of course I don’t want to continue to sin. Of course I want to live to be like Christ. However we are human and make human mistakes. We cannot let Satan convince us we are not good enough. God thinks we are and I listen to him.
Ephesians 6: 10-11 tells us to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. To put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
This is why I cannot let fear or insecurities stop me from spreading Gods word through this blog, website or any other ways.
Mark 16:15 says “He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
It does not say that we are to go when we are not afraid. It says to go. We have to face our fears and face the difficulties we will come across. This is me facing my fear. I am putting myself out there because I am following God’s commandment to go and I am fully trusting Him!
So, sound off in the comments below! How are you fully trusting God, overcoming your insecurities, and just doing?
